The exhibition “Ireland – Scotland – England” is a composition of paintings by McSwiney and Cotter, lithographs by McFadyen and pastel works and giclées by Howson. The exhibition highlights a nuance and transition belonging to four different expressions and discourses within abstract and figurative art. The work represents themes such as space, place, adaptation, area, and a sense of sovereignty. The exhibition “Existential Threads” presents drawings and sculptures by Danuta Haremska and drawings by Margaret Kirkwood Andresen. The work by the two artists highlight a nuance and transition belonging to two different expressions and discourses, but the artists work simultaneously reveal the visual potentials in balancing nature and artefact. The textural material, organic and symbolic forms are camouflaged through expressions of underlying stencilled messages such as reminders of the fragility of life, survival and mortality. “Compositions” is an exhibition presenting landscapes from 1983-2001 by Zdenka Rusova and wall objects by Terje Roalkvam. The exhibition highlights dissimilarities and opposites, but at the same time reveals a comprehensive composition where the two artists’ work complements each other. “Compositions” show two expressions that balance on the contrasts between light and dark, textures, nature, and the artists’ discourse that define the final structure and form of the individual works. “4 Artists 4 Expressions” is a colourful figurative and abstract show displaying artwork from the above artists. The exhibition shows a combination of four expressions & four art forms characterized by the artists’ personal interpretation of their chosen subject.
